Today we took a coach ride through the lovely countryside of
this region to visit a lavender farm and view the magnificent canyon in the
national park. On a mostly sunny day we drove through forested hills past tall
limestone cliffs, fields of lavender just coming into flower, vineyards and row
upon row of fruit trees including peach, apricot, apple and pear.
The lavender farm was very interesting and we learned a lot
about the complex process of creating lavender products. But it was hard to
beat the views of the canyon and the Natural Bridge of Pont d’ Arc which are
the main subjects of the photos. (Pont d’ Arc is the third photo.) A nice relaxing day in the south of France!
Tonight we are having dinner with the Captains (there are 2)
and the heads of departments. It is a
big thing in a separate, exclusive dining area and you have to dress up in your
best bib and tucker. The dinner is limited
to a max of 20 in total and is top shelf food and drink. The wait staff all wear white gloves when
dishing up and presenting meals. Phil is
not allowed more than 2 Canadian Club’s and Sue not more than 2 Prosecco’s. That should see us through the meal with our
reputations intact!!! Will let you know
how it goes…..
